Smoked It

The road was really fast and it was hazy from smoke. You can see from the pictures from last night and today that the sky and scenery is changing due to the air quality.

They left camp at 7:30 for their 87 mile ride.  The ride was great.  They rode on Hwy 10 for 30 miles and then on I-94 for 57 miles.  Smooth as glass, no debris, wide shoulders, the road was beautiful.    If you want an epic ride, go from Steele, ND to Jamestown, ND

They saw many interesting birds, including cormorants, pelicans and sea gulls.  They also saw a more than life size crane.

We all arrived to our new campsite in Jamestown,ND, (Jamestown Campground) before 2:30. Including my TWIN -Elisabeth!!! This was the last ride together for Joe and Bill and they came in smiling and feeling good.  The owners of the campground, Jack and Kari are very welcoming and FYI- there are tent sites available at their quiet, convenient campground.

Neptune found a friend, an orange cat named Joe.  The cat lives across the freeway (I-94) and is technically feral, but is the friendliest cat.  Neptune made a fast friend.  Although he wasn’t sure what to do when the cat was using his leash as a big ball of yarn to play with.

We all went to Drift Prairie Brewing Company for a local beer(s) and dinner.  The drinks were delicious and we had a nice meal. The specialty was beer cheese mac, which was good  but we will always love the Bill and Corrina mac and cheese the best!

Tomorrow is a bitter sweet day.  A rest day, but the day we say goodbye to Bill and my sister.  Luckily, we will be together again in just a few days.
