Everyone slept in a bit today and they didn’t start their ride today until 8 am. It was their latest departure. There was a bit of well earned celebration last night. Honestly, we didn’t get settled into our site until after 7 and dinner wasn’t until after 8, so it was a late night for all of us who are used to an 8 pm bedtime.
There was a 10-12 mph friendly wind and a rolling down hill country road. The road was good with little traffic.
They met up with 2 other bikers, Brad and David, who are also traveling east. We’d heard about them yesterday and it was great to meet them today. They were cooking their lunch at the rest stop when Joe and Bill arrived.
Neptune and I just missed the group at the rest area. But we stopped there for a little walk around on our own. It’s a rest area on MT 200 off of Flowing Wells Road and is a welcome place after miles of travel. I must say that this was one of the most breathtaking 1 ½ hour site to site trips so far. The prairies, farm fields, Badlands, etc. I wish I had a video of it all.
We arrived at our site about an hour or so before the bikers and set the place up on our own. We are staying at Horse Creek RV Park in Circle, MT. The owner, Richard, has hosted many biking groups in the past and is conveniently located in Circle, MT.
Bill took a walk around and took some photos of a John Deere combine with a 48 feet wide header ready for harvest. And some snowmobiles ready for winter. One of the many bonuses of this trip is learning and experiencing small rural towns. I really love looking at the scenery and learning from people. There really are good people everywhere.
We're planning a trip to Glendive tomorrow to look at petroglyphs and fossils on our rest day.
Thank you again for following us on our trip and adventure!
