Neptune Needs a Rest Day from His Rest Day

Starting off with an Arlo ‘N’ Janis comic sent by Tom to Joe.  We got a kick out of it.  Rest day was busy with RV maintenance – those little gravel pebbles get everywhere.  They even ended up in the slide-out so Joe cleaned the tracks and duct taped some metal so it wouldn’t make such an unpleasant noise when opening or closing.  We were able to get our errands done in the town of Omak, which was only 5 miles away from the RV park.  We located a place to hike nearby and after some death-defying maneuvers on unpaved, gravel roads with steep inclines and declines we made it to McLaughlin Canyon Trail.  It was a really cool walk in a canyon.  We took a selfie of us from both directions.  There was a fire in 2007 that you can still see the remnants of.  It was a back and forth walk which I am really growing to love.  You get a whole new perspective by just turning around.  We didn’t notice the rock climbing ropes and anchors in the rock face until we headed back.  There must have been over 20 of them.  The walk was only a couple of miles, but Neptune decided he was done before it was over.  He spent the rest of the day laying down in the hot sun.  He did perk up when Joe shared his spaghetti.  Very Lady and the Tramp, those two. Oh!  And I cooked chicken in the convection oven!!  Big deal to finally figure out how to work that thing and for the food to taste good, too! 😊 We’ve discovered the many uses of our little dinette area, besides it turning into a tiny bed for guests: workspace, laundry and meals all accomplished in that spot.  We headed to bed early in preparation for more bike riding and RV moving.
