Joe headed out for his 5th ride this morning about 7 am. Before leaving he took Neptune for a walk and got some good photos of the mountains with the morning sunlight shining on them. Joe had a 13-mile warm up before the 10-mile climb began. Thank you to Dominic, Tom, Steve and Paul for talking Joe through that climb. Joe made it over the Loup Loup pass like a champ. Once again it was work pedaling up and an occasionally terrifying 7 miles downhill. Joe had no idea that his shoulders and back would hurt just as much coasting down as his legs do pedaling up.
Before packing up today (our 8th time!) Neptune and I walked around the area before leaving and took a photo at the same spot Joe had. We had a relatively short trip (less than 1 ½ hours) to the new site. We passed Joe about 5 miles away.
We were able to go to Conconully State Park for a short walk. It’s more of a camping and boating area with very limited hiking options. But it was nice to drive around the area. We saw an apple farm and the crates stacked and ready for the apple picking season. It’s very dry in this part of Washington. It’s interesting to see the way the land and climate changes as we travel eastward.
Tomorrow is a rest day which means bike maintenance, laundry, shopping and finding a good hiking trail.
Thank you for all your support of not only Joe and I, but our kids, cats and home. We have the best neighbors!!

Well desired rest! Thanks for sharing your trip is amazing.
Safe travels.
Thanks for sharing this! Looking forward to following your progress. I have a China Cat decal for your camper (bumper? Fridge? Inside a drawer because it's lame?Who can say?) for your next adventure. Hope you're listening to good music and enjoying your mountains.
