Namaste Neptune

Today started out with a flat tire.  Fortunately, it happened first thing this morning and before starting the 50-mile ride. Funny, someone asked about any mishaps the night before…. Coincidence???  The trip from one place to the next was relatively uneventful.  Once again, we both stopped at the same place, Crystal Falls.  Some folks were nice enough to take a picture of Joe at the falls.  And I was able to get a picture of Neptune leaning into his Zen self as he sat for a while watching the waterfalls, too.  Tonight, we are staying in Ione, Washington.  It’s in the eastern half of Washington and close to Canada.  It is a beautiful place to stay with many great hiking places around.  It was hard to choose which hike to go on.  We are surrounded by mountains once again and are right off the Pend Oreille River.  When we were hiking, we could see that the river was once used to get logs from one place to the next.  We hiked the Elk Creek Trail and stopped at another waterfall.  There are really a lot of them here.  Neptune was a little worried about going over the bridge, but once I did it, he was back and forth like a champ. We definitely added Ione, WA to our need to go back and spend more time list.  We finally have Wi-Fi that we can stream Netflix.  So, forgive us if this is a short update.  We are really excited to veg out in front of the TV.  Thank you all for your support, well wishes and prayers.  We are safe and happy.  And happy summer solstice to all who celebrate!

C'mon...we couldn't have been the only ones that have asked about mishaps?! Perhaps our query served as totem of good luck and the flat happened at the start of your ride!!
