Eddy’s and the Cruisers (Bike Version)

We’re starting out with some photos from last night that Bill took while walking Neptune.  You can see Neptune happily chewing on a deer leg he found. There’s also a great photo of the water tower in Stanford, MT.

Joe and Bill started their 47 mile trip this morning just before 7 am.  The conditions were so perfect that they were able to stop for breakfast at Eddies Corner, which has been in business since 1951 and is in the center of Montana.

The ride was relatively uneventful.  Canola fields to the north and a thousand round bales of hay to see.  We have a few pictures that the bikers and the truck/RV  took separately that show the sky and the beautiful fields.  I can see the Ukrainian flag in these photos.

We got to our new site in Lewistown, MT early today. We have mountains in the distance. It is a beautiful day and we had time to relax.  Joe and I took Neptune for a walk around the area.  Across the street is the Lazy KB fishing access site.  This is a nice trout fishing area. I didn’t see any fish, but can imagine people out there fishing in that stream.  Neptune loved roaming around in the grass.

We found the local brewery, Big Spring Brewing, and had a couple beers and BBQ Short Rib Nachos with huckleberry sauce.  It was so good that we asked for some BBQ sauce to go.  We do not know how we will use it, but we will definitely plan a meal around it.  Our server, Brook, was  full of helpful information and she even called her dad when we had questions about the next leg of the trip.  He gave us information about the construction and road conditions ahead.  Again, the people we’ve met have been so wonderful.

We’re planning to catch the parade in town tomorrow morning before moving on to the rest of the day.  There is a fireworks store across the street. The RV park says that absolutely no fireworks are allowed on their property.  Let’s hope that’s the case.  This is not poor Neptune’s favorite holiday.
